Scratch & Rent provides equipment rentals through scheduled self-service pickup and, where available, scheduled delivery. Scratch & Rent does not operate a walk-in retail storefront.
1. Fulfillment Options
Depending on the rental, customer location, and availability at the time of booking, customers may be offered:
- Scheduled Self-Service Pickup
- Scheduled Delivery
Available fulfillment options are shown during the booking process or communicated before the rental is confirmed.
Exact pickup or delivery instructions are provided after booking.
2. Scheduled Self-Service Pickup
Pickup is by appointment or scheduled pickup window only.
Self-service pickup orders are fulfilled through the confirmed pickup location and instructions provided with the reservation. Scratch & Rent does not operate a walk-in retail storefront, and customers should arrive only during their confirmed pickup or return window.
Customers must follow the access, identification, pickup, and return instructions provided with their reservation.
Confirmed pickup locations may use controlled access, access codes, time-restricted entry, and video surveillance for security and inventory protection.
3. Scheduled Delivery
Delivery is available for eligible rentals and service areas based on location, rental type, scheduling, and operational capacity.
Delivery availability and applicable delivery charges are shown during booking or otherwise provided before the rental is confirmed.
Delivery times are scheduled within an agreed window. Actual arrival times may vary because of traffic, weather, road conditions, previous deliveries, or other circumstances outside Scratch & Rent's reasonable control.
An adult must be available to receive the rental unless another arrangement has been approved in advance.
4. Curbside Delivery and Access Requirements
Unless specifically stated otherwise, Scratch & Rent delivery is curbside or exterior drop-off service.
The customer must provide a safe, level, reasonably accessible, and weather-protected location for unloading and storage of the rented equipment.
The delivery point must:
- Be within approximately 25 feet of a location where the delivery vehicle can safely and legally park.
- Be accessible without stairs, elevators, steep grades, narrow passages, or similar obstacles.
- Provide sufficient space for the rented equipment to be safely unloaded.
- Provide reasonable protection from rain, standing water, snow, excessive moisture, or other weather conditions that could damage the rented equipment.
Customers are responsible for providing an appropriate covered or otherwise protected location when weather conditions could expose rental equipment to damage. Scratch & Rent is not required to leave equipment in an exposed location where, in the driver's reasonable judgment, weather or environmental conditions could damage the equipment or create a safety risk.
Drivers are not required to carry rental equipment through residences, hotel rooms, cabins, event venues, stairs, elevators, or other restricted-access areas.
Delivery does not include setup, installation, furniture arrangement, or placement inside a building unless such services are specifically included in the customer's reservation.
If the requested delivery location cannot be safely accessed or does not provide reasonable protection for the rental equipment, the driver may select the nearest suitable unloading location or the delivery may be considered unsuccessful.
5. Customer Access Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
- Providing an accurate delivery or pickup location.
- Providing necessary gate codes, access instructions, or contact information.
- Ensuring that the delivery vehicle can safely access and leave the location.
- Providing a suitable location where rental equipment can remain protected from damaging weather or environmental exposure.
- Obtaining any property, venue, parking, or access authorization that may be required.
- Being available during the scheduled pickup or delivery window when required.
Scratch & Rent is not responsible for delays caused by inaccurate addresses, inaccessible locations, locked gates, unavailable customers, venue restrictions, unsuitable drop-off areas, or other access conditions outside our control.
6. Return Pickup
When collection of the rental is included with delivery, rented items must be returned to the agreed collection location and be accessible and ready for pickup during the scheduled return window.
Until collected, rental equipment must remain reasonably protected from weather, standing water, excessive moisture, theft, and other foreseeable damage.
Customers should not leave equipment in a location that is inaccessible, unsafe, unsecured, exposed to damaging weather, or substantially different from the original delivery location without prior approval.
Additional trips or special handling resulting from inaccessible or unprepared equipment may be subject to applicable charges where permitted by the rental agreement.
7. Missed Pickups or Deliveries
Customers who are unable to meet a scheduled pickup, delivery, or return window should contact Scratch & Rent as soon as possible.
Missed appointments, unsuccessful delivery attempts, cancellations, and refunds are subject to the terms of our Refund & Cancellation Policy and rental agreement.
8. Weather, Safety, and Operational Conditions
Scratch & Rent may delay, modify, or decline a delivery or pickup when road conditions, severe weather, unsafe access, inadequate weather protection, equipment limitations, or other circumstances make fulfillment unsafe or impractical.
Whenever reasonably possible, we will contact the customer to coordinate an alternative arrangement.
